At EFG English Language Centre, we impart the English language with prayer because God is the source of wisdom and ability. Our classes are started and closed with prayers that show our commitment to the Lord in matters of education. My wife and I are professionally trained TEFL / TESOL teachers who use the Oxford and Cambridge EFL/ESL syllabuses to impart skills necessary to face the challenges in the 21st century to our students. Our goal is to deliver quality English that would enable students to manifest themselves effectively in the examination, at work and in everything they do.
We provide several English language courses for children and adults, from preschool to postgraduate. Our classes match the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) from levels A1 to C2.
General English – A1 to C2 level
For preschool-age learners, we take an individual approach, introducing the basics of English through the ‘Jolly Phonics and Oxford Phonics World’ programs. This program, designed for phonetics, reading, and language development, make sure that each child’s unique learning needs are met.
For young Learners (YLE): we have the “Family and Friends” course series, which is at its strongest during school season. We also ensure students sit for the ESOL examinations, which include Starters, Movers Flyers, KET, and PET, to give students a good flavour of English.
For adult learners, we offer the ‘Interchange’ series, a Comprehensive course published by Cambridge that covers all proficiency levels up to the advanced stage. The course is divided into two parts, each designed to be completed over a 9-week period, resulting in an 18-week duration per course book level. Students will be assessed after every two units, with tests covering the material from Part A- Units 1-8 and Part B – Units 9-16.
English for Specific Purposes
Business English: Designed for the career-minded individuals, our Business English lessons are orientated towards equipping the clients with business English skills in communication, presenting and writing business documents and reports.
Nurse English: These classes are specialized for people working in the field of healthcare though they are called linguistics classes, as they are aimed at teaching vocabulary and distinctions between certain terms used in the sphere of nursing.
Conversational English: Further, for those who are intending to live abroad, in our conversational classes, learner is made comfortable to encounter topics and scenarios in daily English.
IELTS Foundation and Preparation
For students who intended to sit for IELTS exam, we have own courses based on the specific series of books known as “Improve Your IELTS”. These courses focus on building the skills needed to achieve a high score in all four components of the IELTS test: skills that it entails include listening, reading, writing and speaking.
Certification
EFG is committed to quality education and this is why we also appreciate effort of our students. Hence, an English Proficiency Certificate from EFG may only be availed by those who have passed the exams that are related top our general English EFL courses such as the “Family and Friends” “Interchange” series. Besides, for certificate of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) accredited across the globe, students must take relevant examination to be awarded this noble qualification. Besides confirming your proficiency, such certificates also boost your CV, as it demonstrates your desire to be fluent in English.
At EFG, our commitment to our students goes beyond just teaching English.
