At EFG English Language Center, we believe in Reformed theology, which is the belief on which we, as a centre, base our mission and operations. We are well-grounded in the Reformed and particularly the Calvinistic theology of the Bible, as reflected by the Westminster Confession of Faith. In addition to the Westminster Confession, we also hold the Apostles’ Creed as a brief statement of faith that joins us to believers in every generation.
The emphasis on the Reformed theological convictions was developed during my studies at the Bible Seminary when I studied the Westminster Confession of Faith and the principles of Calvinism. This period of study solidified my understanding and commitment to the principles of the Reformed faith.
After completing my theological education, I had the privilege of working closely with one of my seminary lecturers, serving as his personal assistant. It was about this time that I was privileged to gain an even deeper understanding of Reformed theology as he instructed me in the Westminster Confession of Faith. So that my family and I would have the same understanding of what is right and what is wrong, I learned the Confession for the third time on my own so that my faith and my theology would be strengthened.
Being aware of the vital significance of the unity of the doctrine within our family, I started instructing my wife in the Reformed faith since she had a different denominational experience. This unity in faith has been essential as we raise our children, who are being taught the Westminster Shorter Catechism, to instil in them a solid foundation of biblical truth and spiritual growth.
This unity in faith has been invaluable as we parent our children, who, God willing, are being taught the Westminster Shorter Catechism so as to grow them up to be solid in their knowledge of and faith in God.
I and my family hold to the Reformed faith and together exercise the ministry for the glory of God. The goal of the EFG English Language Centre is not only to teach English but to open people’s eyes to the good news of the gospel, teaching them matters of doctrine out of the word of God in our language lessons. We aim to nurture our students’ spiritual and educational growth, helping them develop a deep understanding of the Reformed faith while equipping them with the language skills needed for success in their academic and professional pursuits. By affirming the Apostles’ Creed, we stand with the historic Christian faith and seek to pass on this rich heritage to the next generation.
